My Great-Great Grandpa Levi was a veteran of the Civil War –
Union side! Levi was a Republican until the day he died. I
know this because he was interviewed numerous times for
being the oldest living Civil War Veteran in Salem, Ohio. Levi
and Ruth had four daughters and four sons. I believe they
were all Conservatives. Levi was highly opposed to the use
of alcohol and tobacco. My Great-Grandpa is in the back row,
second from the left.

I think the Conservative political views were passed from
generation to generation. In 1972 our Dad ran for County
Treasurer as a Republican in Columbiana County.
